As I sit here at my desk nursing a mild hangover, not just from drinking spirits last night, but also from the wild screaming, jumping and sing-a-longing for two hours at the first ever Madonna concert held last night in Vancouver, I realize that she both kicked off the annual Halloween night and closed out October 2008 with a definite Madonna-styled BANG!
October, for some of us, seemed to have come and gone as quickly as the leaves turned, and this year had lots of changes in store for us here at BSD.
Brina's officially a local of Fernie, BC as of October 19th! Ben, myself and Brina's 16 closest Vancouver friends came together to eat yummy Ethiopian food and share laughs together as we wished her and Rod well as they start their new adventure together. I'm definitely missing the old Beans, but with this new handy-dandy webcam/skype thing we've got going on, it's like she never left!
November 1st marks Teenie's official first legit day of after-4PM-Christmas-carol-playing (full days start after US thanksgiving!). I've already got my favourites queued in my xmas2008 playlist...what about you?!
Also, this month's featured couple rings very close to Brina's heart, as it's her brother Trevor and her new sister-in-law Mandy! Since Brina had the pleasure of flying home for the special occasion AND she was the brainchild behind their invitation designs, she's decided to write this month's feature story. Enjoy!
Now that the nights are getting darker and the children lay plump and content with candies in their belly, we're all gearing up to throw logs on the fire and cozy under a blanket until the snow melts in April.
